Avakaya Pickle

Avakaya Pachadi a famous and traditional mango pickle recipe. It is prepared tangy mangoes and other kitchen spices in a traditional way. This avakaya pachadi is a andhra style mango pickle recipe. It can prepared in summer and stored for the whole year.

 

Avakaya Pachadi Ingredients :
3 cups of cut mangoes with skin
1/4 cup salt
2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp fenugreek seeds
3 tsp mustard seeds
3 tsp red chilli powder
1 cup of Ground Nut oil
2 Garlic

Preparation :

Directions for Avakaya pickle or pachadi preparation method
To begin making the Spicy Raw Mango Pickle, wash the mangoes and dry them completely making sure there is no moisture or dust. Make sure your knife and the platform you use for cutting the mangoes is clean and moisture free. Cut the mangoes in half, deseed and further cut them into one inch cubes.
In a large bowl, combine the salt, turmeric powder, Red Chilli Powder, Oil,fenugreek seeds and mustard seeds powder and cut mangoes, Garic Paste.
Fill the above mango mixture tightly into a bottle and keep aside covered for a day, about 24 hours.
It takes approximately two to three weeks for the Raw Mango Pickle to marinate itself and get the flavours from the masala. Best flavour and tenderness in the pickle comes after couple of Weeks of marination. Having said that the
pickle can be eaten almost immediately as well, if you like the taste of fresh mangoes.
