 Rava Pongal Recipe

Ingredients to prepare Rava Pongal:

Rava/sooji

1 cup

Moong dal

1 cup(cooked)

Ghee

1/4 cup

Cashew nuts

Black pepper (crushed)

1/2 tea spoon

Cumin seeds

1 tea spoon

Ginger (grated)

1/2 tea spoon

Water

6 cups

Rava Pongal preparation method:

Heat a pan and roast rava finely till it gives nice aroma.

Wash and cook the moong dal in a pressure cooker till 2 whistles.

Heat ghee in a pan, add black pepper, grated ginger and cashew nuts.

When the cashew nuts turn golden brown, add cumin seeds and add 6 cups of water.

Add salt and once the water starts boiling, add the roasted rava and mix well.

Add cooked moong dal, stir, and let it cook for a while on low flame.

Remove from flame and add a tsp of ghee.

Now the Rava Pongal is ready to serve, serve hot with coconut or sambar.
