Pumkin Curry Recipe
Pumpking Recipe – Pumpkin pulusu curry or gummadi kaya pulusu is the famous and traditional recipe of India. It is prepared with pumpkin, it is a gravy curry. It is very tasty recipe with sour and sweet taste.
Pumpkin – 1 medium size
Onions – 1 Big
Tomato – 2
Green Chilli – 2
Garlic – 4 cloves
Ginger Garlic paste – 1 tea spoon
Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tea spoon
Jeera – 1/2 tea spoon
Chana dal – 1 table spoon
Red chilli – 1
Turmeric – 1/4 tea spoon
Red chilli – According to taste
Garam Masala – 1/2 spoon
curry leaf – 1 sprig
Tamarind – Medium lemom size
Oil – 2 table spoons
Salt to taste
Soak chana dal in water.
Cut pumpkin and tomatoes into small pieces, chop onions and slit green chillies.
Cook tomato peices and soaked tamarind in water and let it cool.
Grind the tamarind and tomato mixture in the mixer.
Heat oil in pressure pan, add mustard seeds, jeera, garlic cloves, red chilli, curry leaves and saute.
Then add green chilli slits and chopped onions and saute for few minutes.
Add ginger garlic paste and fry, then add pumpkin peices, soaked chana dal, cover and cook for 10 minutes on medium flame.
Add red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder and garam masala and mix well.
Add the tamato and tamarind paste and mix well. Add jaggery and some water and cook for 10 more minutes.
Remove from flame and serve.
