Jam cookies Recipe

Roll out the dough and make these popular cookies in minutes — they simply melt in your mouth.

Makes 15 (Approx.)
240 gm flour (maida)
1 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
140 gm butter
120 gm powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
¼-1/2 cup red jam
1 or 2 tbsp milk if needed
Sieve flour, baking powder and salt together.

2. Cream butter, sugar and essence. Add flour.

Gather together and add milk if mixture is too dry. Mix gently to make dough.

Roll out to i/8th inch thickness. Cut rounds with the cookie cutter.

Cut a hole in the center of 1 cookie with small round cutter like a cap of an essence bottle etc. Place this cookie on the cookie without hole. This will form 1 cookie, spoon jam into holes. Use all the dough in the same manner.

Bake at 180°C for 15-20 minutes.
